Role purpose: Support and Operate
within the IP Networks and Infrastructure domain for Vodafone M-Pesa.
Key accountabilities and
decision ownership:
Plan, design and deploy IP
networks for M-PESA ecosystem;
Troubleshoot connectivity
issues and network outages to ensure minimal downtime between M-PESA and its
Partners;
Conduct root cause analysis
for infrastructure and network incidents, known errors and implement corrective
actions;
In coordination with other
teams, perform regular updates, patches and configurations on network and
infrastructure devices;
Maintain accurate
documentation of infrastructure and network topologies, configurations and
changes
Document processes,
procedures, and guidelines for use by relevant teams;
Develop and test disaster
recovery plans for M-PESA infrastructure and network;
To understand network and
backend systems availability and performance monitoring and ensure that best
practice is applied in these areas to ensure the continuity and safety of
M-Pesa services
Core competencies, knowledge
and experience:
Profound Knowledge of
IP/MPLS Network technology checkpoint certification is an advantage;
Knowledge of Infrastructure
virtualization technology and configuration, operation and maintenance of IP
networks;
Good communication,
presentation skills and fluent in both English and Portuguese;
Exposure to infrastructure
and networking projects;
Deep knowledge of windows
and Linux desirable RedHat;
with financial services is
an advantage;
Deep knowledge of
Infrastructure virtualization technology;
experience in leading
complex infrastructure and networking projects
Must have technical /
professional qualifications:
Degree or diplomas in
Information Technology;
Experience in IP Networks
and Infrastructure;
Linux Certification
(desirable);
CCNA Certification
(desirable);
Checkpoint Certification
will be valuable;
ITIL 4 Certification will be
valuable;
Checkpoint Certification
will be valuable
Key performance indicators:
Able to expose himself in a
multinational environment and to management level with good communication
skills (one company & local roots) and be innovation hungry;
