Job Description
Security Systems Strategic initiatives :
Specifically support the
Country Security Manager in the formulation of strategic Security systems
initiatives by ensuring development and consistency in implementation of Africa
Physical standards and policy and sharing of good practices; This
includes and not limited to:
Writing detailed Physical
Security Systems design, specifications and standards;
Interpreting Blueprints for
the purpose of applying BA design standards,
Drafting Scopes of Work,
Project Bidding Packages and Project Budgets,
Directs the evaluation of
security equipment standards and providing expertise regarding their use,
recommends equipment, and adapts technologies as needed with the goal of fully
optimizing and leveraging Absa security systems investments
Policies and standards –
Drive the local implementation Africa Physical security systems policies,
procedures, and standards;
Security Risk Assessments
– Undertake reviews of security systems at all ABSA premises/ specific
residences and certify that they are functioning according to the purpose for
which they were installed; Maintain a record of all the recommendations and
follow through implementation;
Project Support – Provide technical advice consistent
with Security strategies; This includes:
Prequalification of Security
system vendors;
Write and review security
project proposals, specifications, drawings and quotations;
Representing the Country
Security Manager at security systems projects meetings;
Oversees security project
processes, progress, costs, and quality controls and provides timely security
project status reports to stakeholders;
Designs, develops, and
implements solutions for system installations, upgrades, repairs and change
outs;
Design system User
Acceptance Tests and oversee system commissioning and hand/takeover process;
Security Help Desk
Management –Coordinates and ensure timely delivery of daily systems
support requirements (Maintenance and Fault) with various support teams and
vendors;
Management Information–
Produce Security reports as required: Daily, Week, monthly etc;
Quality Assurance –
Verify the quality of compliance with Group policies and standards/procedures
by performing on-site reviews (conformance, RCA & Snap checks), and obtain
a minimum level of Satisfactory in any independent reviews of the
Department;
Vendor Management – Be
familiar with and manage all security systems related contracts to recognize
best practices and obtain added value; Also work with internal customers
to establish, provide and agree on, clear goals, objectives, and performance
delivery outcomes and timelines;
Training & Awareness -Develop
and deploys training programs for all users of the physical security systems;
Incident Management &
Investigation- Provide direct support to sites / locations in the country,
regarding managing security-related incidents and provide appropriate security
support for special requests that may include retrieval of historical data,
etc;
Cost Management – Meets
system security financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing
annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating
corrective actions;
Security systems Business
Continuity Management – Establishes system safeguards by directing
disaster preparedness programs and conducting preparedness tests;
Security Systems Asset
Management – Provides asset management of the security technology
inventories;
